All about moving forward

Established way back in 1977, Asian Tigers Mobility Philippines is a leading provider of international moving, relocation, and storage solutions in the country. With facilities located across the country and managed by a team of trusted professionals — many who have been with the company for more than 20 years — the company has been widely acknowledged as the country’s market leader when it comes to household and corporate mobility.

“My husband started the company to service the relocation needs of the expatriates in the Philippines and vice versa, the needs of expats coming to our country,” revealed Virginia Garrido Lane, who is not only the company’s chief executive officer and vice president but also the better half of Irishman Gerard Michael Lane whom she co-founded the company with.

Holder of a degree in Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of Visayas, Virginia worked in a couple of companies before she decided to help her husband in the management of Asian Tigers. Starting with only 11 personnel, the company now has over 300 employees.

“We have offices in Pasig where our Lane Archive Technologies is located. We have offices in Taguig, Makati, Cebu, Davao and Indonesia where we have six branches. I have to say our strong emphasis on quality and adhering to high values and principles since our founding in 1977 and the difference is that we care,” Virginia noted.

“In five years, if still able and good health permitting, I would continue my various activities in the charitable institutions where I belong and ensure the continued success and growth of our companies including expanding our investments abroad such as the hotel In Ireland, Tinakilly Country Home and Gardens and Finca Monasterio in Soto Grande, Spain.”

When asked about her inspiration and influence, “I still have to say my beloved husband, Gerry because without his unending encouragement and support, I would not have achieved my aspirations with my strong determination to succeed in all my endeavors and the love I put into all of what I do.”

“I believe in giving back to the less fortunate among us. I sit in the Board of Trustees of Ballet Philippine’s Foundation. I’m a treasurer of Johann Strauss of the Philippines Incorporated to name a few of the charitable institutions that I belong.”

Ms. Lane still has many things planned for the near future.

“We plan to build more warehouses and property development not only here in the Philippines but also abroad. The main source of success also is to never lose sight in putting in hard work and professionalism on whatever you do.”

Their satisfied clients include the US Embassy in the Philippines, Abbot Laboratories, Luftansa Technik Philippines, GSK and Citibank among others.

Virginia herself has been awarded as the Style Icon of 2008 by the Philippine Cancer Society, Woman of Style, Substance and Excellence, Patron of the Arts by Society of Cultural Enrichment Incorporated and more recently, as a finalist for the Global Filipino Award in the Asia Leaders Awards 2018.
